First Aid - Employees learned life-saving first aid

First aid is crucial for surviving a cardiac arrest. At least every other hour, someone in Denmark experiences a cardiac arrest, equating to over 5,000 individuals annually. Moreover, hospitals witness daily occurrences of cardiac arrests.

The chances of survival increase significantly when immediate first aid is provided by those nearby. Consequently, the survival rate triples when a cardiac arrest occurs in a public space compared to home environment.

Cardiac arrest can affect individuals of all ages and health statuses. Hense, it’s imperative that as many people as possible know how to respond in emergencies.

At SP Technologies ApS and Process Engineering A/S, prioritizing employee development and competency is paramount with first aid training being no exception. It serves as an investment in employeees’ safety and underscores our corporate social responsibility.

Recently, our employee, Anni Weinbrandt, participated in a first aid course delivered by Morten Binns, a former ambulance paramedic from DuKanHjælpe Aps. His expertise provided invaluable and comprehensive insights.

Throughout the course, Morten addressed a wide array of questions, spanning from strokes and seizures to insulin shocks and epileptic episodes.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Morten Binns for delivering an engaging and highly informative course!

The four key principles of first aid were revisited multiple times throughout the course day:

  1. ENSURE SAFETY
  2. ASSESS THE PERSON
  3. CALL FOR HELP
  4. PROVIDE FIRST AID

Additionally, the basic principles of first aid were reviewed:

  • A – AIRWAY
  • B – BREATHING
  • C – CIRCULATION
